There was once a man who wanted
to destroy a hive near his house, and
his wife prevented him. Then, one day
when she was stung by the bee, he
reproached her for not having let him
take action when he wanted to.
Saadi goes on to say that 'If the
watchman shows kindness, people remain
awake through fear.'
Patience with the evil only increases their
evil, he emphasises.
